Who we are

Who we Are

The TDP is a community-based organization, who in partnership with the Common Law Faculty at the University of Ottawa, is providing legal information and basic legal services to homeless people and people who are street-involved.

What do we mean by “street-involved”?

The concept of street-involvement is broader than the notion of ‘homelessness.’ As Professor Bouclin writes, street involvement refers to “people who are homeless or precariously housed and engage in non-recognized, devalued, or prohibited income-generation and survival tactics on and through the street.” Suzanne Bouclin, Street Law’s Sites, Sights and  Media (PhD thesis, Faculty of Law, McGill University, 2011) at 37 [unpublished].
